Ollie, a leader in subscription-based fresh dog food, has announced the acquisition of DIG Labs, an AI-powered diagnostics company specializing in real-time pet health screenings. This strategic move will support the rollout of Ollie’s new Foodback Loop, a proprietary, data-driven system designed to refine recipe development, optimize feeding algorithms and enhance overall pet health.
With DIG Labs’ technology now integrated, Ollie is leveraging over 20 million first-party data points to personalize dog food formulations, improve portion recommendations and deliver health insights for dog owners. Tara Zedayko, co-founder of DIG Labs, joins Ollie as chief scientific officer to lead the Foodback Loop initiative, focusing on science, research and product development.
Through this partnership, Ollie aims to improve areas like digestion, weight management, skin and coat health, and more by offering real-time, app-enabled health screenings. Since launching these screenings, Ollie has observed significant health improvements among its members' dogs, including a 75% increase in healthy stool within two weeks of feeding Ollie and increased accuracy in assessing dogs' weight status.
As CEO Nick Stafford highlights, this acquisition meets growing demand from younger generations of pet owners for personalized, tech-enabled solutions that improve pet care. The company’s new data-driven capabilities are set to revolutionize the pet food industry by linking nutritional inputs directly to health outcomes.
DIG Labs' advanced AI technology will further bolster Ollie’s mission to help every dog thrive with individualized nutrition and care.
