The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has introduced a new online professional development course, AFIA 600: Designing, Implementing and Documenting an Animal Food Safety Program, which will be available from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17, 2024. The course aims to provide industry professionals with in-depth knowledge of animal food safety standards and regulations, focusing on the Safe Feed/Safe Food (SF/SF) certification program and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) guidelines.
The AFIA 600 course is ideal for individuals interested in understanding FSMA rules and regulations, as well as those aiming to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) or join a PCQI team. The course covers essential topics such as good manufacturing practices, food safety management systems and product realization. Upon completion, participants will be equipped to design and maintain comprehensive safety and quality management systems.
This self-guided, online course consists of nine webinar-style modules that participants can complete at their own pace. Participants can also request a certificate of participation upon finishing the course.
