The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), in partnership with the Vietnam Small Animal Veterinary Association (VSAVA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), has launched the inaugural Pet Health Month campaign in Vietnam. This initiative aims to promote the importance of pet healthcare, emphasizing proper nutrition, regular veterinary check-ups and responsible pet ownership.
The campaign addresses concerns over many pet owners not meeting their pets' basic needs, such as providing balanced nutrition, maintaining vaccinations and visiting veterinarians. Events such as seminars, educational sessions and a "Super Pet Fest" on October 19 in Ho Chi Minh City aim to engage local pet owners, veterinarians, and students by promoting the benefits of proper pet care and nutrition.
The campaign's inaugural event, held on October 10, 2024, featured a workshop on veterinary clinic management and operations, bringing together veterinary experts to discuss best practices. Future activities include workshops at Nong Lam University, media campaigns and community events, all aimed at improving pet care standards and strengthening U.S.-Vietnam business relations in the pet care sector.
