Friskies has launched Cat-lectibles, a convention-exclusive hobby shop featuring collectibles based on real cats. The launch is an extension of the brand's Certified Frisky campaign.

Cat-lectibles debuted at Anime NYC on Aug. 20 alongside content creators Nathan Kehn (@nathanthecatlady) and Gasper D'Anna and his ragdoll cat, Gus (@gasperandgus). The shop will also appear at Rose City Comic Con in Portland, Oregon, on Sept. 11, and at FanX in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Sept. 24.

At the shop, cats are depicted as anime heroes, kaiju and bounty hunters, each with an origin story drawn from what the brand calls "Friskies World" and marked with the Certified Frisky seal.

At the Cat-lectibles Trading Card Station, attendees can upload a photo of their cat to create a free custom trading card and receive a collectible blind box containing Friskies samples. One winner at each stop will receive a custom Cat-lectibles collection featuring their own cat, including a 3D-printed figurine, a hand-illustrated poster and a retro tin lunchbox.

"Every cat thinks they're the main character. Cat owners know they're right," said Jason Dolan, brand director at Friskies. "With Cat-lectibles, Friskies is giving them the trading card, origin story and the clout to match."

Friskies describes Certified Frisky as its designation for moments, people and places it considers to embody cat-like energy and attitude.
