Zoomark International 2025 will feature a new sustainability-focused initiative called Greenmark, created in partnership with the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), to highlight exhibitors committed to verified eco-friendly practices. The program will debut at the trade show, scheduled for May 5–7 at BolognaFiere, alongside two other thematic pathways: Italian Style and Tech for Future.

The Greenmark designation is intended to help buyers and industry professionals quickly identify companies that have taken measurable steps toward environmental and social responsibility. Participating exhibitors must hold at least one globally recognized sustainability certification verified by an independent third party.

"Zoomark has responded to the growing demand for transparency and accountability in sustainability from consumers and industry operators," said Luisa Bersanetti, exhibition manager of Zoomark. "We are thrilled about this partnership with the Pet Sustainability Coalition, a dedicated and vertically qualified organization recognized internationally, which is helping us define the thematic path called Greenmark."

The certifications used to qualify exhibitors for Greenmark have been vetted through PSC’s six-point legitimacy test, which evaluates criteria such as environmental impact, governance, and third-party verification. Recognized certifications include those backed by entities like the USDA, WWF and the European Union.

"In a context where the phenomenon of greenwashing is on the rise and consumer distrust is at an all-time high," said Jim Lamancusa, CEO of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, "it is essential for brands to support their claims with third-party verifications."

PSC will also lead a session at Zoomark titled “Beyond the Buzzwords: Driving Real Sustainable Impact in the Pet Industry,” scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Factory Stage in Hall 28. Lamancusa will discuss practical strategies for pet companies to embed sustainability into their business models, avoid greenwashing, and drive measurable environmental and social impact.

Participation in Greenmark is voluntary and open to all certified exhibitors. Graphics and signage at the event will help attendees navigate the show floor and connect with companies demonstrating verified sustainability leadership.
