Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food, a premium pet food company, donated 1747 pounds of their pet food to the Whatcom Humane Society Food Bank in Bellingham, Washington. The donation is part of the pet food company’s Fill A Bowl… Feed A Soul (FABFAS) program, a campaign aiming to provide one million meals for pets in need in the US annually.

“We are pleased to help the Whatcom Humane Society with this donation,” said Chris Mitchell, Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food CEO in a press release. “Our mission is to help all pets eat well, no matter what their circumstances. Families facing economic challenges should not have to worry about feeding their beloved pets during tough times. Food banks like the one offered through WHS are a lifeline to those families fighting to keep their pets healthy, safe and at home.”

The Fill A Bowl… Feed A Soul program

Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food has made other donations as part of the company’s US campaign targeting one million free meals for shelter pets annually. In December 2017, the company delivered 14,355 pounds of their pet food to help feed animals at the Fox Valley Humane Association (FVHA) in Appleton, Wisconsin. Earlier in December 2017, Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food donated 29,989 pounds of food to help feed rescue animals in the Vero Beach, Florida area.

In addition to the 29,989 pound donation to the Vero Beach area, Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food recently distributed more than 110,000 pounds to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and has donated approximately 1.5 million meals to pets in need across the US since beginning this initiative in June of 2016.
