Morgan Beach has joined the Pet Food Institute (PFI) as the director of government relations. She will represent PFI, whose members make 98 percent of U.S. pet food and treats, on federal legislative matters.
“Nearly two-thirds of families across the country have a beloved dog or cat to feed every day, and PFI members are proud to provide the safe food and complete nutrition that our pets require,” said Dana Brooks, president and CEO of PFI. “We are excited to welcome Morgan to the team as we advance the mission of promoting long and healthy lives for pets.”
Prior to joining PFI, Morgan served as trade policy manager for the National Milk Producers Federation and U.S. Dairy Export Council, where she utilized her farm background and experience in the economic and legislative spaces to raise awareness about U.S. dairy producers’ trade priorities. Morgan also worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. David Valadao, where she handled agriculture issues, and the Farm Credit Council, where she assisted the CEO and legislative team.
“Pet food makers are an important part of U.S. agriculture and manufacturing, and I look forward to helping share the positive story of this industry with our policy and regulatory stakeholders,” said Morgan. “From advancing food safety to supporting the human-animal bond, the pet food industry has a voice in Washington.”
Morgan earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In her spare time, she volunteers with Agriculture Future of America (AFA) and assists with hosting the Women in Agriculture networking group in Washington, D.C.
