AFIA accepting Friend of Pet Food award nominations

AFIA accepting Friend of Pet Food award nominations.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is now accepting nominations through Sept. 2 for its annual Friend of Pet Food Award to be recognized at the upcoming AFIA Pet Food Conference on Jan. 24, 2023. Launched in 2019, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to support the growth of the pet food industry.

“With every passing year, we learn more and more on how we can deliver safe, innovative products to keep our pets fed sustainably into the future,” said Louise Calderwood, AFIA’s director of regulatory affairs. “Developments in pet health and nutrition wouldn't be possible without the dedication of talented individuals and their research. The AFIA Friend of Pet Food Award is a great opportunity to nominate someone who is going the extra mile for the betterment of pet nutrition and the industry.”

An ideal nominee will be currently employed and active in the pet food industry or an associated area, such as new product development, transportation, regulatory, academia, media or promotion. There is no restriction by company or industry affiliation or the function performed by the nominee.

The award winner will be invited to attend the 2023 AFIA Pet Food Conference, which is being held in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, Ga., on Jan. 24-26, where they will be publicly recognized with a plaque.
