Petcurean, award-winning manufacturer of flagship premium pet food brands GO! SOLUTIONS and NOW FRESH, is excited to announce the launch of a social media donation and awareness campaign--Giving Away to Give Back--to raise donations for a local non-profit animal organization, The Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS), from August 15th to September 6th, 2022. RAPS is a registered charity that operates the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, the RAPS Adoption and Education Centre, a fostering network, social enterprise thrift stores and the full-service RAPS Animal Hospital, which is open to the public and also offers partially or fully subsidized care to animals in households with low incomes or facing other challenges. The RAPS Cat Sanctuary is Canada’s largest and home to hundreds of cats--mostly deemed unadoptable due to health issues or aversion to humans, but all of which still need a safe place to live out their days in comfort with proper nutrition and veterinary care. In addition, RAPS runs a dog fostering network and is planning to open a dog sanctuary for dogs to receive the veterinary care, socialization and the training they need, for as long as it takes, until they find their forever homes. RAPS, and the life-changing work it does for animals, is also the subject of the reality TV docuseries, Pets & Pickers, which airs on CTV, Discovery Canada and is available to stream on CraveTV.
The Giving Away to Give Back donation campaign is an extension of Petcurean’s ongoing partnership with RAPS. Since December 2021, Petcurean has donated the equivalent of 45,661 pet food meals to help feed RAPS animals in sanctuary, foster and hospital care. To raise awareness of this campaign, members of the Petcurean team volunteered at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, in Richmond, B.C., on August 2nd. Petcurean team members spent the day socializing with cats, an important activity for emotional health, and to help determine if some of the cats may be suitable for adoption. They also supported RAPS staff with cleaning and landscaping duties to lend a helping hand and provide recognition of the important work they do for animals in need in the community on social media.
