Three Dog Bakery announces new chief innovation and marketing officer.

Three Dog Bakery has announced Marella Oviedo’s appointment as chief marketing and innovation officer. She started with the company in January 2021 to lead innovation and strengthen the new product pipeline for the company. During this time, she brought Three Dog Bakery’s Super Rewards with Super Foods line of healthful training treats to the wholesale market. She also developed the Three Dog Bakery Celebration packaged treats line and identified innovation growth pillars for this fast-growing dog treats brand.

“Marella’s dedication to and support of our growth initiatives at Three Dog Bakery has significantly allowed us to strengthen our innovation activities,” said Aziz Giga, chairman and CEO. “We are pleased to have Marella continue to lead innovation and expand her role to lead our marketing initiatives. She has extensive experience and a passion for building premium brands. I am confident she will be a wonderful addition as we grow our company to reach more dog lovers and their pets.”

“I have truly enjoyed working on innovation at Three Dog Bakery, and I am excited to now be part of building the brand as well,” Oviedo said. “I believe Three Dog Bakery is poised to become a nationally recognized brand for delicious, humanized treats for dogs. It is every brand manager’s dream to work on a consumer brand that has so much heritage, heart and devoted consumer base as Three Dog Bakery. I look forward to working with the marketing team to grow our presence as we continue to serve pet parents and their beloved canines in this rapidly growing premium pet treat category.”

Oviedo began her career as an innovator and brand builder with flagship consumer brands such as Capri Sun, Starbucks and Seattle’s Best Coffee at Kraft Foods. She’s also served in marketing consulting roles for several blue-chip consumer products companies. Before engaging her services with Three Dog Bakery, Oviedo worked with The Nature’s Bounty Co., where she developed its first pet supplements brand, Mac + Maya.

Oviedo received her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
