Delicious Food Factory (DFF), based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, announced it will construct what it said is the largest pet food factory in the Middle East.
The new facility, spanning a total area of 55,000 square meters (592,015 square feet), will have a production capacity of 60,000 tons of dry food and 40,000 tons of wet food annually. Being built north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the factory is expected to be completed by late 2026.
Founded in 2020, DFF said the new facility will produce its brands Horayra and Purevet, both specializing in cat food, and the newly introduced Kulaib brand, dedicated to dog food.
Saud Al Suhaimi, chairman, explained the factory’s primary objective is to contribute to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by increasing the local GDP and enhancing the circular economy. Al Suhaimi said this will be achieved by providing high-quality products at competitive prices, relying on premium raw materials from the local market. He further emphasized the factory aims to meet the growing demand for high-quality pet food across the Middle East region.
According to IMARC Group, the Saudi Arabia pet food market was valued at US$75.9 million in 2023; it's expected to exhibit a CAGR of 6% during 2024-2032. Similar to other markets, the emerging trend of pet humanization, along with growing consumer concerns toward pet health, are primarily driving the Saudi Arabia pet food market.
