The New Zealand Natural Pet Food Co. was founded with the twin ideas of prime nutrition and pet owner accessibility in mind. The company’s food and treats are manufactured in small batches in New Zealand, with a focus on supporting fair trade and local sourcing in everything from ingredients to packaging. Food formulas are freeze-dried or air-dried, providing a lot of the benefits of raw nutrition with the flexibility of working with a dry food, and the treats are single- or limited-ingredient, which makes them easy for pet parents to understand.
“We really strive to be known as a company that is passionate about bringing out good-quality food to nourish our pets,” says Amber Cordero, co-founder (alongside Jacqueline Taylor) and managing director of New Zealand Natural Pet Food. “We want to empower pet parents to feed better however they are able to. This could look a variety of different ways. It could be adding in some of our air-dried or freeze-dried food as a topper to their pet’s kibble so that they can add a bit of extra goodness to their pet’s bowl, or using our food as a complete and balanced meal.”
