It’s well known that raw pet food is working at a higher price point than many other types of pet food out there. Depending on the kibble and raw food bags being compared, kibble is dollars per pound cheaper than raw. But Vital Essentials is out to adjust that expectation by making the idea of raw feeding more accessible to consumers.

“Health benefits of feeding raw start with as little as 20% of the diet, so we’re encouraging pet parents to cut their kibble with butcher-cut protein and not let cost be a barrier to better pet health as it’s not an all or nothing benefit,” said Heather Govea, CEO of Carnivore Meat Company, for which Vital Essentials is the flagship brand. “From treats to entrees, and crunchy to soft formats, Vital Essentials has a product for every dog and cat.”
