JustFoodForDogs, a fresh dog food company based in Tustin, California, announced Aug. 17 the addition of Digestive Care to its Veterinary Support Diet line, along with an updated formula for its Metabolic + Weight Control diet.
Digestive Care is formulated for dogs with gastrointestinal conditions, including digestive sensitivities and disorders that require easily digestible nutrition. The recipe uses a novel protein, ultra-low fat content and moderate fiber levels. It is complete and balanced, made with fresh, human-grade ingredients, and available by veterinary prescription.
The Metabolic + Weight Control diet was updated to help manage weight and blood sugar in dogs. The recipe now includes barley and peas as carbohydrate sources with a lower glycemic index. Turkey liver replaces beef liver, creating a single-protein formula. The diet also includes a fiber profile intended to support gut health during weight loss and remains complete and balanced for long-term feeding.

The company said its ecipes are developed by its veterinary team, which includes board-certified specialists in veterinary nutrition, toxicology and dermatology.
The company's prescription diet lineup now includes Digestive Care Low Fat, Metabolic + Weight Control, Renal Support Low Protein, Hepatic Support Low Fat, Critical Care Support, Pantry Fresh Renal Support Low Protein and Pantry Fresh Hepatic Support Low Fat. JustFoodForDogs also formulates customized therapeutic diets for dogs with complex medical conditions in collaboration with veterinarians.
JustFoodForDogs introduced its Veterinary Support Diet line in 2012. The company said it plans to introduce additional Veterinary Support diets in early 2027.
Digestive Care Low Fat and the updated Metabolic + Weight Control formula are available by veterinary prescription.
