Wuffes has launched a Dental Powder supplement range powered by SuperYolk IgY Technology, a proprietary ingredient the company said is exclusive to Wuffes and the first of its kind in the U.S. canine dental supplement market.

The launch marks Wuffes' entry into oral health and follows a period of growth for the brand.

Proprietary SuperYolk IgY technology

SuperYolk IgY technology features a core ingredient of IgY Egg Powder, an antibody derived from chicken egg yolk that targets gingipain, an enzyme produced by bacteria that the company said is responsible for most canine oral health deterioration.

Gingipain degrades gum tissue and sustains bacterial biofilm, contributing to plaque buildup, tartar, gum irritation and bad breath, according to Wuffes.

The company said SuperYolk IgY technology works through three mechanisms:

  1. IgY binds and agglutinates target bacteria, which are then cleared from the mouth through normal eating. The bone broth-flavored powder is served over food and does not require brushing.
  2. It interferes with the bacterial signaling and nutrient exchange that allow harmful biofilm to organize and mature.
  3. Unlike antiseptic approaches that disrupt the oral microbiome broadly, IgY selectively targets harmful bacteria while leaving beneficial flora intact, an effect the company said compounds with daily use.

Research notes

IgY Egg Powder has been evaluated in published, peer-reviewed canine research, according to Wuffes. The company cited an eight-week randomized controlled trial reporting improvement in occasional gum bleeding in 100% of dogs, in gum support markers in 91% of dogs, and in occasional gum irritation in 83% of dogs.

"Dental is one of the biggest unmet needs in dog health – most owners know it matters, and almost none feel they have a real solution," said Jonny Purcell, CEO. "Wuffes Dental Powder is powered by SuperYolk™ IgY Technology, a genuinely new, proprietary approach for this category: clinically tested antibodies from egg yolk that work on plaque at the start of the chain, rather than on tartar after it's already formed.

"And it's tailored by size, so a toy breed and a giant breed each get the concentration the research supports," Purcell continued. "That's the standard we believe this industry should be held to, and I'm proud we're setting it rather than waiting for it."

Elizabeth Davis, director of product development, added that this category hasn't innovated on mechanism in a very long time.

"Products have gotten better at palatability, better at packaging, better at marketing," Davis explained. "But the underlying science hasn't really moved. We went back to first principles and asked what is actually causing the problem that almost every dog in America will face at some point in their life. The answer is gingipain. SuperYolk IgY Technology is built specifically to address that. This is meaningful innovation in a category calling out for it."

Additional products, rebrand to come

Wuffes Dental Powder launches in four size-matched variants — small, medium, large and giant — calibrated to dog weight. The product is manufactured in the U.S., is GMP certified and does not contain kelp, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

The product is the first in the Wuffes Dental Defense System, a multi-product oral health program the company said is in development, with additional products to be announced.

The launch also introduces Wuffes' updated visual identity. Dental Powder is the first product to reach market in the brand's new packaging; a full rebrand is planned in the coming weeks.

The company said the Dental Powder launch follows a year of brand and retail expansion for Wuffes. The company, which began with a mobility supplement for dogs, expanded into new categories in 2026 with the launch of Allergy & Itch Chews and Calming Chews.

Over the past 12 months, Wuffes has added retail distribution at Hollywood Feed, Pet Supermarket, PetSmart, Petco and Tractor Supply Company.
